"Et leur chanson se mêle au clair de lune"

This is a commission I made for Yves back in April 2024.

In this picture I hoped to further my exploration of wide compositions. The client asked for this to be a night scene and I liked the idea as I don't think I had painted something with this kind of lighting before.

The poem being sung is an old French poem called Bisclavret, written by Marie de France in the 12th century.
